Governor Yahaya Bello has created a new stool of Ohi of Okene, formerly annexed as Ohi of Okengwe/Okene in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The approval was announced on Thursday in a press statement by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Salami Ozigi Deedat.
The Commissioner disclosed that the former Ohi of Okengwe/Okene is now distinctly regarded as Ohi of Okengwe.
Therefore, Alhaji Mamman Isah Okatahi was approved by the Governor to occupy the newly created Ohi of Okene Stool.
In the same vein, the Governor also approved the appointment of Mallam Umar Momohjimoh Opewu to fill the stool of Ohi of Eika which had been vacant since the demise of the former occupant.
“Their official installation and presentation of staff of office to be done alongside with others come Saturday the 5th of March, 2022 at the Muhammadu Buhari Square, Lokoja Kogi State.”
