Unknown Gunmen Kidnap Eight Ceramic Workers in Kogi

No fewer than eight persons working with the West Africa Ceramic company in Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi State have been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

Ebira Reporters gathered that the gunmen struck at the early hours of Wednesday while the victims were loading stones to be transported to the company.

The wife of one of the victims identified as Hassan Shaibu confirmed her husband was abducted at the Emiworo area of the local government.

My husband was among those ceramic workers kidnapped in Emiworo. We are yet to hear anything from their abductors. As I speak to you, I’m confused and I don’t know where to go from here,” she said.

The Kogi State Police Command has also confirmed the abduction, and however differed on the number of victims.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP William Aya said six mining workers against the eight reported were kidnapped.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Kogi State, DSP William Ovye Aya confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Wednesday evening.

Aya assured that the police in collaboration with Sister security agencies had commenced trailing the kidnappers.
